It finally took Joe Judge 26 games to do what was needed.

On Tuesday, less than 24 hours after the New York Giants embarrassing 30-10 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Jason Garrett has been fired as the team’s offensive coordinator.

Garrett was hired after Judge was named the head coach and was expected to help the offense, but Garrett’s abysmal play calling and lack of innovation and imagination has lead to the Giants being near the bottom of the league, despite having some good talent.

The regression of Daniel Jones has been Garrett’s biggest failure as an assistant coach, as Jones has been worse under Garrett’s direction.

It hasn’t been announced yet, but Freddie Kitchens is expected to be named the interim offensive coordinator; a role he once had with the Cleveland Browns before he became their head coach for one season.

Garrett was the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys for almost nine seasons before being fired in 2019.
