It hasn’t been the season that the Detroit Lions organization and fans had hoped for.

Detroit sits at 3-11-1 on the season going into Sunday’s matchup against Green Bay. They’ve lost 8 straight games, and sit at third for the 2020 NFL Draft. There’s not a ton to play for if you’re a Lions fan, granted, they could play spoiler to the NFC North Champion in your own building.

Green Bay has clinched a playoff berth by winning the NFC North, but things can get a lot sweeter with a win and a Seattle Seahawks win over the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football in the NFC West Championship Game from CenturyLink Field. The New Orleans Saints, need a Green Bay loss to have a legitimate chance at a week off in January.

That’s where a local New Orleans car dealership owner is sweetening the deal with third-string backup and rookie quarterback David Blough:

Sounds like a pretty big deal to Blough, as he, much like a lot of the young and inexperienced players on the Lions still have something to play for, a roster spot or a chance at leaving an impression on the organization to stick around next season.

Blough went undrafted in 2019 and signed as a free agent with the Cleveland Browns out of the gate, but was traded to the Detroit Lions for a conditional seventh-round pick. Blough has won some big games back from his days in college, where he helped lead his Purdue Boilermakers to a huge upset win over the Ohio State Buckeyes in 2018.

Could we see an upset brewing in the Motor City come Sunday? Crazier things have happened. Green Bay opens as 12.5 favorites on Sunday. Kickoff between Detroit and Green Bay is at 12:00 PM Central Time on FOX.
