NBA Hall of Famer Jerry West has passed at the age of 86, as per announcement from the Los Angeles Clippers. His wife was by his side.
West played his 14 year NBA career with the Lakers. He was a 14 time All-Star, made 12 All-NBA teams, NBA Finals MVP, All-Star MVP and a member of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
West played from 1960-1974 averaging 27.0 points, 6.7 assists and 5.8 rebounds in 932 regular-season games. He named as part of the NBA’s 50th and 75th-anniversary teams.
West helped lead the Lakers to the NBA title in 1972. After his playing career was over, he would become the Head Coach of the Lakers for three seasons from 1976 to 1979.
West became General Manager of the Lakers before the 1982-83 season until the end of the 1999-2000 season. The Lakers won four 4 NBA titles during his tenure as GM.
