Country music star and songwriter Sam Hunt was arrested for DUI and an open container violation early Friday morning.

Hunt, who is known for his songs, ‘Body Like a Back Road,’ ‘House Party,’ and ‘Take Your Time,’ was spotted driving the wrong way southbound in the northbound lanes in Ellington Parkway N road in East Nashville, Tennessee.

According to reports, the officers got behind Hunt’s vehicle where he had trouble staying in his lane, crossing the center line multiple times before coming to a complete stop.

The officers smelled and odor of alcohol on him and seen two empty beers when Hunt came out of his truck. He had trouble finding his ID, and instead gave them his credit card and passport. But the officers seen that he had his ID on his lap in his truck.

Hunt did consent to a field sobriety test and police found numerous signs of impairment. He also took a breathalyzer test and was tested to .173% BAC, more than twice the legal limit.

The 34-year-old singer was taken into custody shortly afterwards. There is a dash cam video of the arrest, but it will not be released until further notice.
