Many believe that Corey Seager has played his last game with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 27-year-old shortstop and former World Series MVP is set to headline the free agent class once the 2021 World Series concludes. He’s expected to have many teams bidding for his services.

Who is expected to land Seager this winter? Jeff Passan from ESPN predicted the New York Yankees when he appeared on the Michael Kay Show on the YES Network and ESPN Radio this past week.

With Gleyber Torres being moved back to second base and DJ LeMahieu’s ability to move around the diamond at different positions, it gives the Yankees the chance to sign a prominent shortstop and one who can play long-term there, especially like Seager, who again, is only 27 and entering the prime stages of his career.

Now, if the Yankees aren’t able to get Seager, there are other options, like Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa and Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story; rumors had the Yankees tied to Story over the summer at the deadline, but nothing happened.

When there is smoke, there is usually fire and with the Yankees trying to add more firepower to the lineup and get a quality player in the infield, it sure seems like the Yankees are trying to add at shortstop this winter.

But the ultimate question is; how much are they willing to spend in order to get one?
