The New York Yankees are definitely in on trying to get a shortstop for next season. The question is, which one will the Yankees pursue the strongest.

Brian Cashman confirmed that he’s had conversations with at least two different agents representing two free agent shortstops.

While Cashman doesn’t say which agent or which player, we can play the guessing game.

Jon Rosen is the agent for Houston Astros feee agent shortstop Carlos Correa.

Scott Boras is the agent for Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Corey Seager.

Excel Sports Management is listed as the agency for Colorado Rockies shortstop Trevor Story.

There had been reports that the Yankees have soured on their interest in Story, although, that doesn’t mean it could stop Cashman from reaching out to gauge the market.

MLB Trade Rumors predicted that the Yankees would sign Seager to a 10-year deal over $300 million, and they weren’t the only ones to do this, as Jeff Passan from ESPN told Michael Kay of the Yes Network and ESPN Radio that he thinks Seager is signing in New York too.

The Hot Stove for baseball’s off-season is starting to get lit and it’s about to start burning.
