Detroit Lions fans, you might want to grab a couple tissues for this one.

On Twitter, the Lions’ official Twitter account posted a nine-minute video of now-Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford reminiscing his time in Detroit and what kind of impact he brought to the city.

Stafford states near the end of the video that his trade and his departure from Detroit was a ‘thank you, not goodbye.’

And just like that beginning today on St. Patrick’s Day, a new era has begun in Detroit with the start of the new league year for 2021.

But to you Matthew and the Stafford family, us Lions fans thank you for all the great memories and contributions for your 12 seasons here.

You brought all of your night and heart to try to get us over the top, but we will never forget our No. 9. Thank you 9 for the everything here, enjoy L.A. man; go get that ring.
