March Madness is right around the corner and as Selection Sunday approaches it is only right that we take a look at what this wild college basketball has brought. Before you fill out your brackets you need to know the 68 teams that will be in it. Selection Sunday is less than two weeks away so we are almost there to choose your bracket.

Betting on March Madness can literally be mad, so having a solid March Madness betting strategy is a necessity before parting with your hard earned cash. The narrative this season is that there are no “great teams” in college basketball. But when healthy, Kansas is clearly a cut above the rest of the country, if only slightly. The Jayhawks are now favored at every online sportsbooks, ranging from +495 to +600. Their inside-outside combo of Devon Dotson and Udoka Azubuike gives them the best one-two punch in the country. The next tier in the odds includes Gonzaga at around +800, Dayton at +1000, and Baylor at +1200.

This has been a wild season where you have seen number one ranked teams, ranking doesn’t even matter because there has been ten different one numbers. Storm chasers get ready, they are brewing. There is ‘no’ favorite because everyone instead the top ten has a few bad losses so if you are a gambler I can’t even imagine the stress that you will be going through this month. Here is my list of ten teams to look out for this tournament season:

Florida State

The saying goes that history repeats itself, the Seminoles have been in the ACC for almost thirty years, and have never claimed the regular season title, that can all change though by beating Notre Dame tonight, and Boston College on Saturday. Florida State has had a couple statement wins that make you raise your eyebrow beating a good Louisville team twice this year. They shoot the ball well and have good guard play one thing about March Madness is that usually the teams that have good guards go far and the Seminoles will go as far as MJ Walker will take them if there is a particular player to watch out for this season. If I had money on the line I would pick this team to go at least to the Sweet Sixteen.

Gonzaga

The Bulldogs are led by a dynamic duo of Corey Kispert, and Killian Tillie who have dominated this season for far. The Zags are 29-2 and are ranked number two in the AP top 25.  This is probably the best coached team in the nation Mark Few, has a team that shoots the lights out of the ball, and defends very well. They don’t have many weaknesses and maybe the favorite to win it all but we all know March does not look at them. Look for the Zags to make a deep run in the tourney, I’d say worst case scenario is the Final Four but this is March so they could get bounced by a 16th seed with my luck.

Dayton:

The Flyers have been a team that has flown under the radar for a majority of the year with not many people taking notice of what they have accomplished. They may be one of the more complete teams in the tourney they do not have that one star team player that they heavily rely on they play a total team game from start to finish. Obi Toppin has arguably been there best player on the year almost averaging twenty points on the year and is one of my players to watch out for this year. A question that surrounds Dayton is if they can win the big game, they lost to top ranked Kansas earlier on it the season and have bounced back. This has been a wild season and Dayton is on the top of that they do not do anything incredibly well they just play complete games. They are a team that could get hot and go on one the incredible runs we see every year in the tournament. I would not be shocked if they made the Elite Eight or even the Final Four. They are well coached and just do a lot of the dirty things that other teams don’t do like rebound the ball well.

Baylor

I feel people would be made if I did not include the Baylor Bears, Scott Drew has done a great job of turning this program around, and needs to be considered for Coach of the Year. This season has been an impressive one for Baylor they are 11-1 in quad games this year which just means teams with in the top 30. Jared Bulter is one of the best Sophomores in the nation and has lead Baylor in scoring for the whole year the reason I have them in my top five teams to watch is because of their guard play, you will go as far as they can take you. One of the things to look out for is this team tends to fall in love with the three pointer so if they are not hot they are in trouble. The Big 12 might have the best shot this year to get someone to the National Championship I would expect the Bears to be in the Final Four just with their resume alone this year.

Villinova:

I know I know Villinova has not has had some bad loses on the year but what is important is what you do in March. Jay Wright is one of the best in the business, and if they go on a run and win the Big East tournament watch out because they could go on a wild run. I understand that Seton Hall has been playing very well this year but something that holds value to me more than anything is experience. Villinova has been there before they are lead by Saddiq Bay and Collin Gillespie. Watch out for Nova if they go on a run in the Big East tournament, they are an older team and shot the ball well as a unit.
