After missing out on Lincoln Riley who just took the USC head coaching job, LSU is reportedly aggressively targeting Notre Dame head coach Brian Kelly.

Brian Kelly is the winningest head coach in Notre Dame history and also has led the Fighting Irish to two separate playoff appearances and has them at 11-1 and in contention again this year. Notre Dame hasn’t played strong teams this year other than Cincinnati, who was their only loss, but 11-1 is 11-1, and the Fighting Irish still have an outside chance of making another playoff appearance this year. Next year however, Kelly will have to do battle with some of the best head coaches in the country.

Lincoln Riley was the head coach every school in the country with a head coaching vacancy had as their top target, but Riley decided to take his talents to sunny Southern California. Brian Kelly would be a home run hire for LSU, but it has been reported that Kelly has shown no interest in the job. Time will tell, but Kelly may be best suited to just stay at Notre Dame rather than joining a stacked SEC who will be adding Oklahoma to the conference soon as well.
