The city of Detroit and the fans of their football team were deeply angered over the officiating in Monday night’s loss to the Packers. So angry that one of the billboards in the city hung up a billboard with referee in a cheesehead hat in protest.
I have a feeling these types of protests is just getting started. This week even the fans responded as they started Change.org petitions to get NFL commissioner Roger Goodell to replace Alberto Riveron, the current head of officiating.
So far no significant change to the referees, but the NFL admitted to a ‘mistake’ on one of the illegal hands to the face calls on Lions defensive end Trey Flowers.
