One Upper Peninsula college athlete was recently listed in top five for a couple football categories throughout all four-year Michigan colleges and universities, even in NCAA Division III.

Playing for Finlandia University in Hancock, freshman linebacker Christian Creten, of Gladstone (located in the south-central Upper Peninsula), finished second in the state in tackles per game average with 11.4.

Creten also led the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) for solo tackles and tackles per game, and was tenth in NCAA Division III for tackles per game as well.
