There you have it. The Lions will be releasing Desmond Trufant when the league year officially starts on March 17th. The Lions signed Trufant last offseason after trading away Darius Slay. Bringing him in on a two year, $21 million dollar deal. Trufant was a massive disappointment for the Lions to say the least.
In one year in Detroit, Trufant only played six games. In those games he did play in, Trufant didn’t do a whole lot. Recording only one interception and four passes defended. He was targeted 29 times, giving up 20 receptions. PFF gave him a overall grade of 38.4. At the age of 30 and not being able to stay healthy, it was only a matter of time until the Lions moved on.
