Lions fans (and a few former players) were delighted to see head coach Matt Patricia and general manager Bob Quinn fired from their jobs after back-to-back lackluster losses.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport reports that fans were so delighted that many of those Lions literally donated to Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson’s charity after game was over.
In Rapaport’s article, the Deshaun Watson Foundation is up to $1,070 as of this Sunday morning. Many fans have donated $13 signifying Patricia’s 13 wins as head coach.
Rapaport says that Watson will likely match the donation, as he will provide the first 100 lunches from Lefty’s in Detroit. Watson is, in fact, a large quite owner of the Lefty’s restaurant franchise, and their restaurant is set to open up in December.
Let’s say Watson did the Lions fans a favor by leading the Texans to fire their coach and GM, and the quarterback will be returning the favor very soon.
