The Lions have a new defensive coordinator in Aaron Glenn. Glenn is coming with Dan Campbell from the Saints. Glenn has been the defensive backs coach since 2016 and has helped turn around the Saints defense.

Aaron Glenn played 14 seasons in the NFL as a cornerback. During that time Glenn was a three-time pro bowler and three-time all-pro. Add on 41 interceptions and that’s an impressive career. Much like Dan Campbell, Glenn is a Bill Parcells guy. Glenn played under Parcell with the Jets and is the guy who helped him get into coaching.

The Saints had one of the best defense’s in the entire league this year. Ranking fifth overall in team defense, fifth in passing, and fourth in rushing. The opposite of the Lions defense. The Lions ranked 30th in team defense, 30th in passing and 28th in rushing. Let’s pray Glenn will be the guy to turn this defense around.

As I said the other day, the Campbell hire really determines on who he brings in as coordinators. So far, so good. Love this hire. Welcome to Detroit Aaron Glenn.
