In efforts to build on their defensive line and pass rush, the Detroit Lions made a splash just ahead of the Trade Deadline.
Via NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, The Lions have acquired old divisional rival and pass rusher/defensive end Everson Griffen in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys.
As listed above, the pick Detroit has given up is currently a conditional sixth-round pick for next season.
In his half-season in Dallas, Griffen currently has two and a half sacks and 20 total tackles.
He will join an improving defensive line that includes pass rushers Trey Flowers and Romeo Okwara, and defensive linemen Nick Williams, Danny Shelton, John Penisini, and DaShawn Hand.
