In a move to fill a void in a young, but inexperienced wide receiver room, the Detroit Lions traded fifth and seventh round picks in 2022 to the Denver Broncos for wide receiver Trinity Benson.

As part of the trade, Detroit will receive a 6th-round pick in 2022 in return.

During his time at the Broncos’ training camp, Benson was most known for catching two touchdown passes during a preseason game against the Minnesota Vikings. Also via PFF, he was graded as the tenth highest graded wide receiver in this preseason.

By trading for Benson, Denver frees up a receiver on their end in a crowded room. Their corps has names in Courtland Sutton, KJ Hamler, and Jerry Jeudy on their roster currently.

This move is also something to keep an eye on as Detroit attempts to make ways with a thin wide receiving corps. Notable receiver names that are currently on the Lions include Tyrell Williams, Tom Kennedy, Amon-ra St. Brown, and Javon McKinley.
