The NBA has officially scheduled the 2021 All-Star game and it’s set to take place in Atlanta in person and most of the league is not happy, including face of the league Lebron James. The NBA was supposed to hold the All-Star Game initially in Indianapolis this season before canceling due to the pandemic. The TNT headquarters is in Atlanta and the league views it as an opportunity for less travel. The NBA is planning to host the game and skill competitions in a single night, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.

I understand the league wants the tradition to continue, but they have to understand not every player is onboard with the vaccination and having to travel to Atlanta, a city where COVID is still very much present. It’s viewed as a “slap in the face” to players when they could of have a couple days off to enjoy with their family. Considering the off-season was one of the shortest in NBA history, this isn’t helping the travel. The NFL decided not to have their annual Pro-bowl event due to the pandemic, moving it over to Madden 21 to display to fans, maybe the NBA should consider taking notes from the big brother. De’Aaron Fox also had comments about the plan to have an All-Star game this year.
