Kyle Schwarber belts three home runs and drives in seven runs to lead the Phillies to a 9-4 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Schwarber got the night started with his 11th leadoff homer of the season.
His second homer of the game was a three-run blast in the sixth inning.
Schwarber hit his third home run of the game leading off the ninth inning. It was his 27th on the season.
He also added a two-run double to go 4-for-4 on the night.
The 31year-old Schwarber tied his own club record with 11 leadoff home runs in a season, as per Sarah Langs of MLB.com. The MLB record is 13, which is held by Alfonso Soriano in 2003.
Schwarber also tied a career high with 7 RBIs. He was a one man wrecking crew for the Phillies, as he lead them to their third win in the last four games.
Schwarber now has 27 home runs, 73 RBI, a National League-leading 82 walks and a .260 batting average for the season.
Schwarber is having his best season in Philadelphia and deserves MVP consideration. He really stepped big time to help get the recently Phillies a series win and hopefully back on the right track again.
