Karl-AnthonyTowns may want out of Minnesota. And it’s time for the New York Knicks to pounce.

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Timberwolves dismissed Gersson Rosas as the president of basketball operations, a position he had since May of 2019.

Following the dismissal of Rosas, it lead to Towns sharing his displeasure of the move.

The Timberwolves have been an underperforming team for some time now and with his displeasure with the team, it’s time for a team like the Knicks to call Sachin Gupta, the new Timberwolves executive, and make a deal with Leon Rose and Scott Perry.

Here’s the trade to make for the Knicks and Timberwolves:

New York Knicks get:

Karl-Anthony Towns

Minnesota Timberwolves get:

Mitchell Robinson
Kevin Knox
2022 1st round pick
2024 1st round pick

With this trade for Minnesota, it would allow for the Timberwolves to get some young players back who could use a change of scenery in Robinson and Knox, plus two first round picks to offer Minnesota that always seems like they are in a constant rebuild.

The Timberwolves aren’t any closer to winning and with their constant shuffling of coaches and front office moves, they are even further away now, which is why it’s time to make the move to trade Towns to New York.

On the flip side, with this trade for the Knicks, it allows them to be an even bigger threat and powerhouse team in the Eastern Conference. Picture a lineup involving Towns, Julius Randle, RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, Obi Toppin, Derrick Rose, Kamba Walker and Evan Fournier. It’s deep and has a ton of weapons to win right now.

Last season, the Knicks were good enough to not only make the playoffs, but be the fourth seed in the East. Add in an All Star big man like Towns, who is from the area in New Jersey, and you’re talking about a team that goes from the middle of the pack to contending with the Brooklyn Nets, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers.

The Knicks under Tom Thibodeau, who also coached Towns when he was in charge in Minnesota as well, are already a playoff team. Are they a championship contender as is? It’s hard to see.

Would the Knicks team be a contender with the trade proposed for Towns? Yes.

The Knicks should pounce, and they should pounce now for Towns.
