With Clayton Kershaw unable to pitch today, the Dodgers were put in a bind with how they’d use the rotation, already down 1-0 in the NLCS to the Braves. Tony Gonsolin got the Game 2 start in the absence of the future Hall of Famer, but Julio Urias is now slated to start tomorrow.

Urias, who has a stellar postseason track record and a firearm shoulder, started 10 of his 11 games for the Dodgers this year, posting a 3.27 ERA over 55 innings of work.

Urias also has postseason experience, playing in seven different postseason series. In those, he is 4-2 with 21 strikeouts over 23.2 innings pitched and a 3.42 ERA.

He will oppose Kyle Wright, who had by far his best big league start in the game against the Marlins in the NLDS. He struck out seven, giving up only three hits over six scoreless frames. Although, Wright has struggled historically. The 24 year old has taken part in three straight Major League campaigns, but has posted an ERA over 6 lifetime. We’ll see if he can keep this momentum building, or if Urias can cool the Braves bats. The Braves still haven’t lost a game in the postseason.
