Quick recap: Roman Reigns has been the Universal Champion since last August and has been the Head of the Table since. THE Tribal Chief, followed by his advocate Paul Heyman and Jey Uso. After initially refusing to play his lackey, Jey fell in line and knew where his bread was buttered. All Roman, all the time. They are family after all. After a couple of months fighting the urge to stand on his own, Jey gave in and has been loyal to Reigns, never looking back. Never wavering again.

Fast forward to Friday night – Jimmy Uso is back! Yes, while Jey Uso has been on screen hanging with the Universal Champion, his brother and long-time tag team partner had been sitting at home injured. Now that he is fully cleared and ready to go, he has returned to the blue brand. The only issue is…he’s conflicted. Roman is his blood, but Jey is REALLY, really, really, really, really his blood. Jimm made it known that he isn’t a ‘b***h’ now will he follow around Reigns like a laptop and neither should Jey.

Boom, just like that, we have dissension in the ranks. What happens from here? Well, it all just started, but I have a couple of ideas.

REPEAT – WWE could just tell the same story they did last Fall with Jey. He initially backed down, fought against Reigns but then eventually acknowledged him as his superior and began following him. Literally following him around, doing his bidding for him, lackey, lapdog, etc. Whatever you want to call it. Jimmy seems to NOT want to follow that same path. However, here is the thing about the story last Fall – IT WAS GREAT! It was so well done and really set the tone for the current Roman Reigns. The man who walked into WWE WrestleMania 37 as Universal Champion, decimated Edge and Daniel Bryan and left as Universal Champion. That story set the tone. Will we see it again, just with Jimmy instead of Jey? Maybe.

APART – Who says that Jimmy and Jey have to stay together? Why not branch out? Jey has been doing some downright solid work since he’s been away from Jimmy. He won the Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal folks. That has to count for something, right? He has proven to be able to stand on his own, even if he chooses to support Roman Reigns at the top of the card. Perhaps there won’t be a tag team reunion at all. Perhaps both will try to stand on their own two feet as single’s wrestlers. I doubt it, but as I said, Jey has more than proved his worth.

FAMILY – I see a combination here. Jimmy can talk back to Reigns a little bit, but he can also stay loyal and now be a total laptop like Jey. Two dueling personalities but still with the bloodline. Since Roman Reigns is your Universal Champion, it feels inevitable that The Usos will add some gold to that picture. The Smackdown Tag Team Titles are currently on Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode (two heels). Assuming Jimmy and Jey Uso remain bad guys, that may pose a problem. That issue can easily be resolved though. Do the title switch with Rey and Dominik Mysterio and Backlash, and then have them battle The Usos in the coming weeks and months. Good spotlight for the father/son duo while taking on the brothers. Nice little family connection, all the while they are still associated with the top of the food chain, Roman Reigns.
