It was recently reported that NBA veteran Jeremy Lin, who’s just made his return to the G-League after playing in China for a couple seasons. Lin plays for the Santa Cruz Warriors and he came out in a social media post about the alleged incident in which he was called ‘coronavirus’ on the court during a game and how racism is still a constant going issue no matter if you’re a veteran or not. The NBA G-League is looking into the incident and it’s under investigation.

Lin has had to earn his stripes in the league, especially being Asian-American playing in the NBA which is rare for the most part. He also added he isn’t gonna reveal the name of the player who called him the horrific name. It’s a time in America to reunite as one, not continue to separate each other. Jeremy Lin has showed the game and his fellow players nothing but respect in his nine year NBA career. And let’s not forget about the situation with Kenyon Martin when he made fun of Jeremy Lin because of his hairstyle.

Steve Kerr, who is the head coach for the Golden State Warriors commented on Lin’s social media post in his press conference.

“I just saw the Facebook post just now,” Kerr said. “Really powerful. I applaud Jeremy for his words and echo his sentiments regarding racism against the Asian American community. It’s just so ridiculous and obviously spawned by many people, including our former president [Donald Trump], as it relates to the coronavirus originating in China. It’s just shocking. I don’t know — I can’t wrap my head around any of it, but I can’t wrap my head around racism in general.”
