Jeffrey Okudah has been one of my favorite players to watch this year. He has shown the whole league that he is the best corner in the upcoming draft. I’ve seen a lot of experts to project him going in the first five picks in the draft.
With Okudah coming out of Ohio State, they have been known to produce a hand full of defensive talent in the past couple of years. This year is no different with Ohio State having two players projected to be taken in the first five picks. A lot of teams in the NFL are very high on Okudah and one team is going to get a flat out beast.
Okudah has the size and athleticism to be a starter in the NFL. In his junior year, he totaled three interceptions, 28 solo tackles, and a forced fumble. His stats may not jump off the stat sheet, but he comes as a coverage corner. With the speed of the receivers in the NFL nowadays, teams are looking to bring in lock-down corners. He brings great vision to the field and has shown leadership on the defense.
With his draft stock at an all-time high, I expect a team like the Detroit Lions or the Washington Redskins to draft him. He will get drafted within the first five picks, its just a matter who gets picked above him and what trades go down. Okudah will be an interesting player to follow in the NFL and I hope the excitement he brought to Ohio State transfers over.
