The New York Giants’ odds of winning this weekend has just taken a hit with the news of their offensive coordinator testing positive for the virus. Yes, Jason Garrett will not call plays this weekend against Cleveland Browns.
Multiple reports give the impression that Garrett is asymptomatic and will continue to help with the game plan from home. Thank goodness for zoom meetings right?
Their tight ends coach Freddie Kitchens is expected to call plays this weekend which adds a new layer to the storyline. Kitchens was relieved from his head coaching duties last year by those same Cleveland Browns.
The question will know center around the emotions of Kitchens and how he calls the game. Will he stick to what the Giants have been doing all season long with ball control as the key to success or will Kitchens dig into his bag of tricks and attempt to prove to his old team that it was a mistake moving on from him?
Time will only tell but if the New York Giants have any hope of catching the suddenly hot Washington Football Team, it is going to start this weekend which suddenly has a great “flex” storyline.
Testing positive can be a nerve-wrecking ordeal so I wish him a speedy recovery.
