Late last night, a story broke out that James Conner wants to pick Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to play him in a future biopic should his story ever get greenlit for a movie. In light of the release of his new memoir detailing his very tough journey so far, the NFL superstar certainly would certainly gain interest from writing a movie overcoming his Hodgkin’s lymphoma in college to breaking out as Steelers’ franchise running back.

There could be concerns whether or not Dwayne Johnson can pull it off because of his age but who’s gonna tell him he can’t? Besides, if Netflix can make a bunch of legends look young beyond their years via CGI (in The Irishman) anything is possible. Personally, I think it’s a match made in heaven for Johnson to play Conner.

People often fail to realize that The Rock was a national champion at the University of Miami in 1991. He went for the draft and though going undrafted, did some time in the CFL before eventually getting cut and pursuing his legendary wrestling career. Since retiring, he’s focused on being a movie star and keeping his iconic brolic stature. If he were to be casted a role as James Conner, he may even have to bulk down.
