A male student at Kansas State University is currently under scrutiny after posting a tweet that is believed to be mocking the anniversary of the death of George Floyd, who was killed while in police custody.

Jaden McNeil, who’s listed as a conservative in his Twitter profile, posted a tweet that stated, ‘Congratulations to George Floyd on being drug-free for an a different month!’

For those who don’t know, Floyd had years of drug problems and was arrested back a few years ago. He was working himself to make himself a better person before his murder one month ago yesterday.

A few have assumed it was a joke, but it didn’t sit well at all with a lot of people.

The reaction was swift as McNeil was faced with death threats and the school went on to launch an investigation on him.

Along with the school setting up counseling over the tweet, Kansas State president Richard Myers issued this statement in response.

But there were many people who have spoke out in support of McNeil and a couple of believed that the university will get sued.

Let’s see how this situation plays out for both sides here.
