The wrestling world is full of rumors, misdirection, and out-and-out bullshit but there’s some buzz going around that football player turned pro wrestler Parker Boudreaux may be getting ready to jump from training at the WWE Performance Center to appearing on the WWE’s developmental territory NXT. A recent tweet from Boudreaux has fans buzzing about whether the man some see as a young Brock Lesnar is being fast-tracked into the ring.

Mr. Boudreaux has been an Internet sensation since he built up a sizable social media following while playing high school football. He’s referred to himself as “The Next Big Thing,” paying homage to WWE and UFC legend Brock Lesnar, who he bears more than a passing resemblance to. After playing college football for Notre Dame, he played for the UCF Knights before signing with the WWE earlier this year.

Given his size and athletic credentials, Mr. Boudreaux seems like a natural for the ring and with the right training, could be a formidable force in the ring. Some wrestling pundits have expressed concern that he might be rushed into the ring before he’s ready and while this is a valid concern, he may be a fast learner. Furthermore, NXT could be a great opportunity for him to learn the ropes further than he has at the Performance Center. One rumor currently making the rounds is that he could become a member of the new “Diamond Mine” faction on NXT. Even if he doesn’t wrestle, he could serve in a role as a bodyguard while continuing his training at the WWE’s Performance Center.

As anyone who has followed the grappling game knows, professional wrestling is based on the idea of fooling the fans whether it’s with storylines or the career paths of its wrestlers. Parker may have some time to go before he gets a spot on TV and this tweet could be the latest wrestling ruse to get the fans talking and tune into NXT.
