President Trump may want to cancel any vacation plans for Tehran.
A Tehran prosecutor is seeking international help after issuing arrest warrants for President Trump along with 35 other individuals who were involved in the drone strike that killed General Qassem Suleimani earlier this year.
The warrants have been issued for murder and terrorist actions and Iran has made an official request to Interpol to issue a “red notice” for Trump and the other individuals responsible for the killing of Suleimani according to a statement by prosecutor Ali Alqasimehr. Alqasimer said the group of 35 consisted of US military and civilian officials but declined to name the individuals.
According to Interpol’s website, a Red Notice is a request of law enforcement worldwide to locate and provisionally arrest a person pending extradition, surrender or similar legal action. Red Notices are published by Interpol at the request of a member country, and must comply with Interpol’s Constitution and Rules. Red Notices differ from an international arrest warrant.
Experts agree it is highly unlikely that Interpol would honor Iran’s request against a sitting US President
