The Notre Dame Fighting Irish went into Athens, Georgia to take on the Bulldogs in a battle of top ten teams.

#7 Notre Dame went into the game as two touch down underdogs to #3 Georgia.

The Irish went into halftime up 10-7, but Jake Fromm and the Bulldogs were able to outscore Notre Dame 16-7 in the second half to win the game.

Fromm completed 20-26 of his passes for 187 yards and a touchdown. The guy has an NFL arm and should be a top ten draft pick when he decides to come out.

The key differences in the game were:

  1. Notre Dame’s penalties. They had 12 penalties for 85 yards. Most of them were pre snap infractions, as the Georgia faithful were loud and proud, cheering on their Dawgs.
  2. Time of Possession. Georgia out possessed the Irish 34:31-25:29, and you could tell the Irish were gassed in the second half. Some could say they took a few liberties with injury time outs:

    3. Notre Dame’s inability to run the ball. Notre Dame’s lead rusher was Tony Jones Jr. He finished with 9 carries for 21 yards. Not gonna cut it.

Here are some high lights:

Both teams still have a real shot at the College Football Playoffs.
