UPDATE: there is still no exact details on what happened, but SVSU has closed down campus for the day Friday.

Along with the Science West Building, students have been strongly advised to stay away from the Science East, Pioneer Hall, the Zahnow Library and the Ryder Center Gymnasium.

In a Facebook post by NBC 25 News reporter Dave Bondy, it is reported that police have issued alerts to students at Saginaw Valley State University to avoid one of the campus’s buildings until it is deemed necessary.

University police are stating that the alert is due to a person in distress at the Science West building on campus.

Bondy has said that neither he and NBC 25 have reached out to the university and there was no further information available for posting as of yet.

Along with Saginaw Valley State Univeristy police, the Saginaw County Sheriff is assisting at the scene.

Once we retrieve more information on this incident, we will update it into this original post.
