I woke up this morning not thinking I’d see anything negative regarding the Super Bowl halftime show – but it’s completely the opposite. The comments I’ve read regarding 50 year old Jennifer Lopez and 43 year old Shakira are ridiculous.

Somethings are better left unsaid…. This is one of those situations where I probably shouldn’t type anything more… But I’m going too. This is ridiculous.

I’d like to share some of the comments that I read this morning:

One person said that it’s setting up role models for sex trade? Kidnappings? And called J.Lo and Shakira ugly? Satans snake pit? Oh… My… SHUT UP.

Jealous that you’re not 50 years old and looking as good as them? Sure seems it. C’mon now! Enough is enough.

Because of the “twerking? Because they were dancing? Who cares. If your child can’t handle watching a grown women on TV do NOTHING against TV standards you’ve need to change the way you’re raising them.

If you’re mad about that you should NEVER go to a beach. NEVER. Because I tell you what… Miami beach during the Super Bowl is filled with women running around twerking and enjoying the fun.

“I am APPALLED by the amount of slut-shaming and vitriol I see in my newsfeed at Shakira and Jennifer Lopez after last night’s halftime show, especially from women. I watched with my daughters and cheered every second. What I saw up there were 43-year-old and 50-year-old mothers kicking ass and showing what it means to work hard and slay. Shakira is a worldwide phenomenon who does amazing charity work, has won countless awards and plays multiple instruments. JLo is a queen – a multi-hyphenate who came from nothing to become one of the most famous and talented women in the world. Did she dance on a pole? Yes. So what? I grew up watching Madonna writhe on stage singing “Like a Virgin.” Was Shakira’s belly out? Sure, but no one complained when Adam Levine stripped so far down at last year’s halftime show I nearly saw his junk. Taking women down for owning their sexuality and being who they are is wrong. Celebrate women who succeed, especially women of color. Celebrate mothers who do it all. Celebrate woman who are strong and uses their voices. That’s what we want our daughters to be.” – Danielle Medina

If you know me, you’re aware I occasionally jump on my soapbox. Today is one of those days. I am APPALLED by the amount…

Did you watch the Halftime show? If not.. Go ahead and watch the 15 minutes of the performance.

If I looked as good as Shakira and J.Lo I’d wear that outfit to the grocery store.
