You might remember two months ago that I blogged about how Roger Goodell is so scared of Dave Portnoy, the founder of Barstool Sports that the NFL was considering not having the Patriots open up on Thursday Night Football. And today, the NFL confirmed it.
The NFL announced they would open up the first Thursday Night regular season game with the Green Bay Packers and Chicago Bears.

Let’s be real. It isn’t because it’s 100 years of football. Goodell just doens’t want to have to walk into all of these Barstool and Patriots fans booing him, and throwing any object they can find at the Doofus himself.
Why continue to kick Dave Portnoy and Barstool Sports out of events? Huh Roger. Roger? You there in the big empty head of yours? You’ve got a monkey banging around bricks in your head. No one likes you, no one like’s any decision’s you make. Just retire. No one liked David Stern, everyone likes Adam Silver.
Sliver, come to the NFL? I mean there are NFL owners who want the NBA commissionaire, I would love it. Get this moron out of here.
Adam Schefter confirmed that Sunday Night Football in Week 1 would be the night… Will Goodell show up? Probably not.
New England Patriots will raise their championship banner on Sunday Night Football in Week 1 at 8:20 PM ET on Sunday, September 8. Their opponent will be announced when the full 2019 regular-season schedule is released later this spring. https://t.co/grIWKU5WLK— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 25, 2019
