A few weeks ago, Justin Verlander had agreed to a deal to return to the Houston Astros. But could that be in jeopardy now?

With the MLB lockout taking into effect shortly after midnight, the deal that Verlander had with Houston was never made official, and now with the lockout, it can’t be made official.

With the deal not being official, Verlander is technically not a member of the Astros and won’t be until the lockout ends.

Could the deal not being announced put the deal into jeopardy? Who knows.

But with the lockout now in place, we won’t know anything until it ends, whenever that may be. Whoops.
