Griffin Johnson, 21, and Josh Richards, 18, are two of the top influencers and they both had a very big 2020 and that’s continuing right into 2021.
Yesterday Griffin Johnson announced that he was going to be duetting a couple of TikToks and donating the money directly to The Barstool Fund to help save small businesses. The Fund was created by Barstool’s founder, Dave Portnoy, and has raised over $26,000,000 to help save struggling businesses because of the pandemic. Thus far they’ve helped 140 businesses.
Moments after Johnson announced this, Josh Richards decided to join him and agreed to doing the same thing. Donate proceeds from the TikTok duets. Richards and Johnson then both donated $1000 of their own money. And that was just the start to it all.
Pearpop allowed Johnson and Richards to run this on their platform where they sell duets and Pearpop didn’t charge a fee like they normally would. Pearpop also donated additional cash.
“Thank you Pearpop for allowing me and Josh to sell duets on TikTok where it all goes to the Barstool Fund. Pearpop is an incredible and young platform and I am glad to see they are already making the right moves such as supporting creators through their charity initiatives and beyond.” – Griffin Johnson
Johnson then started challenging his friends who are other influencers and business owners that he knows to donate. And a train started unleashing. They raised over $200,000 from the help of their friends! When something is for a good cause, it’s okay to push in the right direction and with the connections Richards and Johnson have, this $200,000 might keep adding up.
“I come from a small town and wanted to help small businesses in need. Barstool already had the fund and the infrastructure set up, so Josh and I decided to jump right into it.” – Griffin Johnson
