What a terrific feel-good story ahead of Super Bowl Sunday.
San Francisco 49ers tight end and good guy George Kittle gave away Super Bowl tickets to a Sacramento family of Army and Marine Veteran Martin ‘Mick’ LaMar, who was killed while serving his country overseas.
According to a story from NFL Memes, Sergeant LaMar was shot and killed in January 2011, on the day of both his wedding anniversary to his wife, Josephine, and the day he was scheduled to be deployed back home.
Kittle posted the above tweet about the gift and how he humbled was to give them away to the LaMar family, with the aid of USAA and the TAPS (Tragedy Assistance Program for Survivors) organization.
Along with his wife, LaMar is survived by his five children. Their children include one child, a daughter, that he never met.
Big time respect for Kittle towards giving the tickets and honoring Mick’s legacy. He is of the few players whom everyone should be rooting when the Big Game is on regardless of what team you represent.
