It’s a rare treat to get live golf on a Tuesday afternoon, even more so when it involves some of the best players in the world (and of all time). Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas will tee it Watch Live Now
up against Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose in an exhibition at the Payne’s Valley Cup in Missouri to showcase Tiger’s latest architectural work (and first public course design). All four are coming off varying degrees of success at this year’s U.S. Open at Winged Foot —
Rose and Woods missed the cut, Thomas and McIlroy finished in the top 20 so the four-hour exhibition should be both relaxing for them and enjoyable viewing for all of us.
And hey, any time you get to see Tiger tee it up these days it has to be considered a treat given how up and down his last decade has been. Hopefully we also get to see him talk his way through a course he designed
as well. His knowledge of both course construction, as well as
golf itself, is world class. All four players will be mic’d up throughout the day, which should be a delight as long as they’re loose enough to chat back and forth about their games and the golf course.
For the Payne’s Valley Cup, a team charity golf match that will raise funds to benefit The Payne Stewart Family Foundation, FanDuel has been appointed as the exclusive sports betting and fantasy partner.
Tiger Woods and Justin Thomas, who make up Team USA, will play against Rory McIlroy and Justin Rose, who make up Team Europe. The game will also celebrate the grand opening of Big Cedar Lodge’s Payne’s Valley Golf Course in Ridgedale, Missouri.
The odds provider for the made-for – TV event is FanDuel Sportsbook. Throughout the exhibition match, live odds, including hole-by-hole outcome projections based on player and team results, will be updated.
Mike Raffensperger, CMO, FanDuel Group said: “The Payne’s Valley Cup is the future of golf betting. The ability to offer hole by hole betting markets featuring golfers the caliber of Thomas, Woods, McIllroy and Rose is really exciting and will provide a glimpse into the future of golf betting in the United States.”
The rivalry will be punctuated by the players’ in-the-moment remarks as they all aspire to be the golfer to set the record for the course.
Customers of FanDuel and golf fans will be able to put legal wagers on match results, individual hole results, fairway players and regulatory greens.
