Former Philadelphia Eagles edge rusher Haason Reddick requested a trade from the New York Jets, as per multiple reports.
The Eagles traded Reddick to the Jets conditional 2026 third-round pick, which could become a second-rounder if he reaches 67.5 percent of playing time and at least 10 sacks, back in March.
The Eagles opted not to sign Reddick to a new deal and signed former Jets defensive end Bryce Huff to a three-year, $51.1 million free agent deal to replace him.
Reddick has 50.5 sacks in the past four seasons with the Arizona Cardinals, Carolina Panthers and Eagles.
Reddick wanted the Eagles to renegotiate the $14.25 million deal, which is in the final year of his current deal.
Jets GM Joe Douglas had this to say about Reddick ‘s trade request.
This is clear franchise mismanagement by the Jets. They trade for a guy, knowing he wants a new deal and do not negotiate a new contact. This why some teams don’t win.
