The first free agent agreement of the Brad Holmes/Dan Campbell era with the Detroit Lions has just been announced by ESPN’s Adam Schefter as the team will sign wide receiver Tyrell Williams to a one-year deal.
As mentioned in the tweet, Williams’s deal is for $6.2 million.
The former San Diego/Los Angeles Chargers and Oakland/Las Vegas Raiders wideout joins the Lions after serving the past two seasons with the Raiders. Williams also has a connection with former Chargers head coach/current Lions offensive coordinator Anthony Lynn.
Before being placed on injured reserve last season due to a torn labrum, Williams recorded 42 catches, 651 yards and six touchdowns with the Raiders. He has 23 touchdowns and over 3,000 thousand yards in his career.
