Ladies and gentlemen , the last weekend of pre-season football has come and gone and tonight we start the NFL season with the Atlanta Falcons versus, the defending Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles . The wait is finally over and the anticipation is coming to a climax as we impatiently wait for tonight’s kickoff.
Nick Foles will make the start in place of Carson Wentz, whom is recovering from a injury that allowed Nick Foles to lead the Eagles to the Super Bowl. Nick Foles struggled during the pre-season , but Coach Doug Pederson is confident that Foles will be able to lead the Eagles until Wentz is able to return.
For the Atlanta Falcons it is very intriguing to see what this offense is capable of now that Julio Jones may be seeing a lot more one-on-one coverage with the drafting of Alabama wide receiver Calvin Ridley. Bradley is very keen at getting open and will cause fits for the opponents, that is if the rookie wide receiver can get off to a fast start. Wide receivers don’t typically transition fast to the NFL. But former Alabama wide receiver Amari Cooper had a pretty good rookie campaign as did fellow Falcon in Alabama crab Julio Jones. Can Calvin Ridley repeat the success of the two former Bama whiteouts?
As for my NFL predictions this year I think your AFC division winners are as follow:
Patriots Ravens Texans Chargers
NFC division winners are as follow:
Giants Packers Falcons Rams
AFC championship winner: Patriots
NFC championship winner: Packers
This may be a far-fetched Super Bowl dream but I’ve had a dream for some years I’m a Packers Patriots Super Bowl and this year there’s a very good chance of it period with all the turmoil beginning in New England this could be the last gasp run for a Superbowl for Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Aaron Rodgers has a mass of weapon in Jimmy Graham and if last season is any indication, Aaron Rodgers is one of the very few quarterbacks who can carry a below-average team to amazing Heights. With a retold Packers team and Mike Pettine now running the defense we could be in for show from the pack up in the bay. My Super Bowl pick is New England Patriots for one last hurrah.
Last but not least I would be no kind of football fan if I did not make predictions for my favorite team the Cleveland Browns. I expect my Browns to go 6 and 10 making great strides this season but Falling short of anything great because of the tough schedule they have. I expect to see a new head coach by the end of the year and maybe Todd Haley anybody?
Baker Mayfield will get to play and show he was worthy the first pick in the draft and set up a very optimistic you’re two for himself and this new-look Browns team. As for college I’m a very big Ohio State Buckeyes fan and I expect Ohio State to not only be in the top 4 teams but also win a National Championship this year.
