In what turned out to be a tight 17-12 victory for the Iowa Hawkeyes over the Northwestern Wildcats, there was something puzzling that happened during the game has caught everyone’s attention.

Over in the first half, the game was put into a delay after a group of student protesters came on to Northwestern’s Ryan Field holding up several banners.

As you can see in the tweet below, the banners were turned over to the far side bleachers, leaving it hard to read for others.

Luckily in another tweet by Iowa News Now anchor Jeff Beachum, he was able to see and capture what the banners/signs were saying or read. One banner was seen to have ‘Abolish NUPD’ on it.

As you can hear in the video, fans were fed up booing the protesters, which led to an Iowa fan breaking up the protest running one of the signs.

It’s understandable that some people would like to protest certain things and (somewhat delusional virtue signaling) topics such as abolishing the police, but did those students really have to have the rally during a college football game of all places?

They should’ve saved it for during the weekday or after class over at ‘Chicago’s Big Ten University.’ Just our two cents here.
