Tonight, NXT Takeover 31 is emanating from The Capitol Wrestling Center, NXTs new groundbreaking set. Following the match between Io Shirai and Candice LeRae, two females made their presence felt and entered their name into the NXT Women’s Championship picture.
One is former WWE United Kingdom Women’s Champion Toni Storm who is back following the travel ban at the start of the pandemic. The other? Ember Moon has returned to NXT, as the mysterious person behind the video to reclaim what is there. Ember is a former NXT Women’s Champion, who held the belt 140 days before losing it to Shayna Baszler and moving to RAW in April of 2018. She moved to SmackDown in the 2019 Superstar Shakeup but a career threatening ankle injury kept her off of TV. A little under a year ago she went on WWE Backstage and said she was out indefinitely.
It seems as though Ember Moon is cleared to compete, although she didn’t get physical tonight. We’re excited to see where she goes from here with a hopefully revamped character. There’s no doubt that before her injury, she was one of the best women’s workers on the planet.
