Edmundo Sosa Swinging A Hot Bat For The Phillies

Philadelphia Phillies shortstop Edmundo Sosa has stepped in for the injured Trea Turner and has been ripping the cover off the baseball.

Sosa blasted a big two run homer in last night’s 4-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The victory was the Phillies 40th of the season. They are the first team in MLB to reach the total this season. Sosa’s blast was the difference in last night’s game.

Sosa has four doubles, four triples, three home runs, 13 RBIs, a. 313 batting average and a 1.014 OPS in his last 21 games.

The Phillies are 14-7 in Sosa’s 21 starts. His hitting and stellar play at shortstop has allowed the Phillies continue their torrid start to the 2024 season.

The way Sosa is playing, has allowed the Phillies to not rush Turner back. This gives them time to let his hamstring injury heal properly.

The playing time that Sosa is getting will benefit the Phillies and himself over the course of this season.

Players like Edmundo Sosa are what good teams need when their everyday players go down with an injury or need a day off. He is one the best trades that they have made over the last few years.
