Eagles Rookie Cooper DeJean Impresses In Win Over Browns

Philadelphia Eagles Eagles rookie Cooper DeJean was impressive in his first start at nickel CB. He played 52 snaps on defense and make an impact.

DeJean was a second round pick this year’s NFL draft. He missed most of training camp with a hamstring and the Eagles have working him along to get him ready.

Veteran Avonte Maddox had started the first four games at nickel CB. He had struggled in those games and with last week being the bye week, it was the perfect opportunity to elevate DeJean.

DeJean was sent on three blitzes and recorded a half sack on one and pressured Browns QB Deshaun Watson on another. He nearly had a safety.

DeJean ended the game with six tackles, which included one he made during the Eagles late goal-line stand. He also had great coverage on an endzone pass to Browns WR Jerry Jeudy.

The Eagles future looks bright in the defensive back with fellow rookie CB Quinyon Mitchell, who continues to shine in each game, and with the play of DeJean yesterday.
