Eagles Defeat Panthers For Ninth Straight Win

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Carolina Panthers 22-16 and extend their winning streak to nine straight.

Eagles star RB Saquon Barkley ran for 124 yards to break the team’s single season rushing record. He passed LeSean McCoy’s total of 1,607 yards, set in 2013.

Barkley now has 1,623 yards with four games left in the 2024 regular season. He is within striking distance of the NFL record, set by Eric Dickerson.

QB Jalen Hurts threw two touchdown passes and ran for another. He completed 14 of 21 for 108 yards.

This was not a good performance by the Eagles passing attack and it does need to get better, but this will be the topic all on local Sports Radio.

Eagles star WR A.J. Brown had catches for 43 yards for the game and was visibly upset on the sidelines after a three and out possession.

WR DeVonta Smith and TE Grant Calcaterra each caught touchdown passes in the victory. The offense failed to score on their opening drive for the 13th time this season.

I would like to the offense get both Brown and Smith involved in the offense early and open the passing a little bit more.

The Eagles defense had allowed 118 yards rushing yards to the Panthers and WR Adam Thielen gave them fits with nine catches for 102 yards. They did step up when needed.

Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who was examined earlier for a concussion, made a huge play late in the second quarter when he picked off Panthers QB Bryce Young’s deep pass at Philadelphia’s 41.

The 11-2 Eagles host the 10-3 Pittsburgh Steelers next Sunday at 4:25 PM.
