Eagles Defeat Browns 20-16

The Philadelphia Eagles defeated the Cleveland Browns 20-16 on Sunday at Lincoln Financial Field to improve to 3-2 on the season.

The Eagles are coming off a bye last week and were looking for a statement win, as they were getting three star players back in A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith and Lane Johnson.

The Eagles did not get a comfortable victory, but they did secure their third win of the season. It’s good to stack some wins as the team tries to round into form.

Star WR A.J. Brown returned after missing the last three games with a hamstring and led the way for the Eagles offense.

Brown scored the Eagles first touchdown on a 22-yard pass from QB Jalen Hurts. He finished the day with 6 catches for 116 yards, which included a game-clinching bomb that allowed his team to run out the clock.

Fellow WR DeVonta Smith returned after missing the Eagles last game with a concussion. He caught 3 passes for 64 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown pass from Hurts that gave the Eagles a 20-13 lead.

Eagles QB Jalen Hurts completed 16 of 25 passes for 254 yards and two touchdown passes. He also rushed for the 33 yards for the games and zero turnovers.

The Eagles defense sacked Browns QB Deshaun Watson 6 times and held him to 168 yards passing, while keeping them from scoring a offensive touchdown.

The win was not pretty or dominant, but improves the Eagles to 3-2. They travel to take on division rivals the New York Giants at 1 pm next Sunday.
