The NBA may make a lot of people happy, but not all NBA stories have a happy ending. NBA star Stephen Curry’s parents decided to put an end to their marriage. Apparently, it was Sonya Curry who filed for divorce from her husband Dell. On Monday, the divorce was confirmed to the People Magazine by the couple, and divorce proceedings are currently ongoing. If you’re planning to bet on gg.bet for their upcoming NBA games, you may want to take this aspect into consideration.

How Did the Two Meet?

Sonya and Dell Curry were both student-athletes at Virginia Tech. Not long after Dell was a drafter to the NBA, the two decided to get married. Dell was known as a very good player, especially as he was a part of the Hornets, Raptors, Jazz, Bucks, and Cavaliers. Meanwhile, Sonya was also a Virginia Tech star volleyball player.

Stephen Curry was born in 1988 and he was the first child of the couple. The second son was Seth, who is now one of the Philadelphia 76ers stars. Later on, they had their daughter Sydel.

Both Sonya and Dell were often seen at NBA games cheering on their sons. For this reason, they were some of the most visible parents at the games. They also wore logos for both Seth’s Portland Trail Blazers and Steph’s Warriors when they played against each other back in 2019.

What Led to the Divorce?

It is yet unclear what made the couple file for divorce. Apparently, Sonya is the one who filed for divorce from Dell Curry back in June, according to a report from TMZ. At the moment, they are still dealing with divorce proceedings. Many find it odd that the two are separating after all this time together and being seen at their sons’ games.

“After exploring a trial separation over the past year and much thoughtful consideration, we have decided to end our marriage. As this comes with a great deal of sadness, our focus and desire is for our family’s continued happiness,” declared the couple for the People Magazine. “We are so thankful for all the many blessings and successes! We stay committed to and supportive of our children and grandchildren and will remain on connected paths. We ask that our privacy be respected and pray for our family as we move forward.”

So, unfortunately, the two will not be seen in the same way anymore at future NBA games. While nobody knows whether they ended up on good on bad terms, it is clear that they will not act like a couple anymore when supporting their NBA player sons. So, will this affect Stephen and Seth?
