In an expected move now free agent D.J LeMahieu turned down his 18.9M qualifying offer from the New York Yankees and now is set to be a free agent.

This does not change the course of the Yankees and LeMahieu negotiating a new deal, it helps him get a better contract and well deserved. In this two years with the Yankees LaMahieu has one two batting titles, is the Yankees best hitter, and probably the best player in the majors over that two year span crazy but true.

Weird to think that a guy who was in Colorado for his whole career has emerged into this ultra important player. But he has always been this good, no one took notice because he was in Colorado.

The offseason is clear for the Yankees; re-sign D.J first, go after starting pitching, trade for Lindor, and rebuild that bullpen. The re-signing of D.J LeMahieu should be the easiest (I hope) I know there is a lot of teams out there that would love his services but I know deep down D.J only wants to be a Yankee. Cashman you nerd you better pull the trigger and give this man a blank check I swear.
