Christian McCaffrey Placed On Injured Reserve With Achilles Injury

The San Francisco 49ers are placing RB Christian McCaffrey on injured reserve as he continues to recover from a calf injury and Achilles tendonitis, as per NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport.

McCaffrey was Associated Press Offensive Player of the Year in 2023. He had 1,459 rushing yards, 2,032 yards from scrimmage and 21 touchdowns last season.

McCaffrey sat out the 49ers season opening 32-29 win over the New York. Jordan Mason replaced him at running back and rushed for 147 yards on 28 carries with a touchdown.

McCaffrey must miss at least the next four games and is eligible to return for the October 10 game against the Seattle Seahawks on “Thursday Night Football.”
