Chris Holt Named Orioles Pitching Coach

Chris Holt had a moderate success in the major leagues, being able to stick around for five campaigns. Yet he went 28-51 with an ERA over 4.50. It’s noted that the best coaches are those who weren’t top players and Orioles GM Mike Elias hopes that this is the case.

With the position of pitching coach needing to be filled, Mike Elias has promoted Hot to the spot. The previous pitching coach, Doug Brocail, was let go after two seasons.

Holt served as the assistant director of pitching for the Astros until Elias hired him as minor league pitching coordinator for Baltimore. In 2020, Holt was promoted to director of pitching.
