Chiefs Sign DeAndre Baker

Recently, DeAndre Baker’s charges were dropped after it was revealed the prosecutor was extorting the witnesses. The 23-year-old cornerback is a former consensus All-American. He was drafted in the first round out of Georgia by the Giants in 2019.

He showed a lot of promise in his first season in NY, but it ended up being his only season. After an arduous legal battle, Baker seeks to return to the NFL and has signed with the Chiefs. He will join their practice squad. For Baker, this seems to be a decent opportunity to prove he has more in the tank after time off, while a chance to get a championship should he receive any playing time. For the Chiefs, they get a young talent who could have a lot to give on a low-risk move should injuries occur and they need depth.
